Summary: 69th Session of UNECE

On the 21st of April 2021, Pär Larshans, Head of Sustainability at Ragn-Sells, was invited to speak at the 69th Session of the Commission Promoting Circular Economy and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources in the UNECE Region. Larshans’ message was clear; “Heroes are transformers, policymakers are the enablers, private sector innovate, and together we create a circular economy”.

As the sole representative for the business sector, Ragn-Sells was invited to speak at the 69th Session of UNECE. The two-day meeting had the mission to unite 56 nations to set voluntary circular ambitions. Pär Larshans, Head of Sustainability at Ragn-Sells, talked about barriers for trade and the most important challenge - how wastewater treatment plants in today's linear economy can become resource plants in a circular economy.

- The heroes are the ones that transform for example wastewater treatment plants and cities. The enablers are you, the policymakers around the world. We, the private sector, will innovate solutions that are good for the environment, good for society and good for the people, Pär Larshans finished his speech.
