Ragn-Sells’ reThink™ certificate was launched for the Swedish market in autumn 2019. The Certification helps Ragn-Sells’ customers to perform a structured review of their waste management and to make it more efficient , more sustainable, and in line with the EU’s environmental targets and the UN’s global goals.

One of Ragn-Sells' customers Tarkett, the flooring manufacturer, completed the reThink™ certification process last spring.

- Tarkett's environmental coordinator expressed an interest in reviewing their internal waste management routines, says Patrik Kullberg, account holder for Tarkett at Ragn-Sells in Ronneby in the south of Sweden. We had an inventory conducted in order to see what their waste management process looked like; where the containers were located and what went into them, and how they were looked after and emptied. We also looked at the level of knowledge amongst the employees.

Wanting to create circularity

Ragn-Sells uses reThink™ to make their customers aware of the degree of sorting, landfill share and the proportion of recycled material, with a focus on making their waste management more effective and sustainable. The certificate includes an annual review of waste management, with improvement suggestions and evidence of degree of sorting.

- Following the inventory, we got back to Tarkett with an assessment, results and suggested improvements, which is the actual reThink™ certification. We already knew that Tarkett was extremely interested in creating circularity in its production, and the certification clearly showed that they are heading in the right direction, says Patrik Kullberg.

The certification was initially conducted on one of Tarkett’s many production lines.
- In the long term, we are hoping to implement this throughout the factory. The purpose of reThink™ is to help our customers in their waste management so that it becomes easy to do the right thing. The overall goal is to reduce the amount of waste by means of recycling and re-use.
